How much does a balcony solar panel cost?

Can I really plug a panel into a socket? +
Yes: the built-in micro-inverter converts the current to 230 V and feeds it through a dedicated, secure socket. The system is anti-islanding, meaning it automatically shuts off if the grid goes down. We still check the circuit and the per-phase power limit before commissioning.
Is it worthwhile if I’m a renter? +
That’s its ideal audience. The kit mounts without drilling into the structure (weighted supports or railing clamps) and comes off when you move out. The landlord’s or building manager’s approval may be required depending on the co-ownership rules, but the installation stays reversible.
How much will I save? +
It all depends on orientation and your daytime consumption. A well-exposed 600 to 800 Wp kit covers the daytime baseline draw (fridge, router, standby) and brings the bill down by around 10 to 20%. The saving is more modest than a roof, but so is the investment.
Is a declaration required in Belgium? +
Yes. Any production connected to the grid must be declared to the distribution grid operator under Synergrid rules. Power is also capped per phase. We file this declaration for you and size the kit to stay compliant.
What happens to the electricity I don’t consume? +
The surplus not consumed instantly isn’t paid for financially, especially with a smart meter. The whole point of the balcony kit is therefore direct self-consumption: we size it to stay below your baseline draw, so everything is used on the spot.
And at night or in bad weather? +
A balcony panel only produces during the day and far less under heavy cloud: at night it produces nothing. Without a battery, nothing is stored for the evening. To enjoy the energy after sunset, you need to add a solar battery.
