Maintenance of solar panels

A photovoltaic installation that is barely monitored silently loses output: soiling, a faulty inverter, micro-breaks in the wiring. Our maintenance visit checks everything — modules, inverter, connections, watertightness and monitoring — cleaning included, all brands.

What we check

Complete maintenance, from module to meter

Photovoltaic maintenance is not limited to cleaning the modules: it is a check of the entire production chain, where yield losses hide.

Visual inspection of the modules

Looking for cracks, hot spots, film delamination and new shading marks (vegetation, soiling). A degraded module drags its whole string down.

Inverter & yield check

Verification of the inverter — the fragile heart of the installation (lifespan 8 to 12 years): error codes, ventilation, conversion yield and fault logs.

Connections & DC/AC wiring

Check of the connectors, the tightening and the condition of the cables on the direct and alternating current side. A connection that overheats means lost output and a real risk.

Roof watertightness

Verification of the fixings, the cable passages and the watertightness around the rails and hooks, to prevent any infiltration under the installation.

Monitoring analysis

Reading of the production data and comparison with the expected reference (≈ 950 kWh/kWp/year). We immediately spot any abnormal under-production.

Module cleaning

Cleaning with demineralised water of the dust, pollen, droppings and deposits that reduce yield — included in the maintenance visit.

How it works

From booking the appointment to the production report

  1. Booking the appointment

You choose a slot; we note the brand of the modules and the inverter as well as the roof access so we come properly equipped.

  2. Complete inspection

The technician reviews the modules, the inverter, the DC/AC wiring, the fixings and the watertightness of the roof.

  3. Cleaning & checks

Cleaning of the modules, electrical checks and measurement readings to verify that the installation is producing within its expected range.

  4. Production report

A clear report: condition of the installation, observed vs expected output, points to watch and advice. The warranty remains respected.

up to 15% of output lost without maintenance
≈ 950 kWh/kWp/year of reference output
8–12 yrs lifespan of an inverter
25–30 yrs lifespan of the modules
Preventive or reactive?

The loss of yield is silent

A panel does not fail in a spectacular way: it simply produces less, month after month. Soiling, an undetected faulty inverter or a connection that overheats can cost 5 to 15% of output before you even notice anything on the bill.

  • Maintenance visit: output checked and faults detected early
  • Maintenance contract: regular monitoring follow-up and priority intervention
  • Without follow-up: under-production sets in and adds up to euros lost

Has your output dropped without explanation?

A maintenance visit takes stock of the entire chain — modules, inverter, wiring — before the loss sets in.

Frequently asked questions

Solar panel maintenance

How often should solar panels be maintained?

A maintenance visit every one to two years is enough for most residential installations. The frequency depends on the environment: proximity to trees, fields, roads or livestock soils the modules faster. An annual monitoring follow-up lets you adjust this rhythm.

How do I know if my installation is under-producing?

The best indicator is the monitoring: we compare your real production with the expected reference (≈ 950 kWh/kWp/year, adjusted for orientation and shading). A steady drop, an inverter showing a fault or zero production on a string signals a problem that maintenance identifies.

Do you work on all brands?

Yes. Our technicians maintain and repair all brands of modules and inverters, whatever the original installer, anywhere in Wallonia and Brussels.

Is monitoring included in the maintenance?

The monitoring analysis is an integral part of the maintenance visit: we read the production data, compare it with the expected reference and hand you a report. If your installation does not yet have any follow-up, we can advise a suitable solution.

Diagnosis

The signs that maintenance is due

Just one of these symptoms? Better a check before the loss of production sets in.

  • The displayed output drops steadily from one month to the next
  • A red light or an error code shows on the inverter
  • Moss, lichen or soiling covers the modules
  • New shading marks appear (vegetation, antenna, soot)
  • The monitoring shows a string at zero or well below the others
  • Bird droppings or deposits persist at the bottom of the panels
  • The inverter is noisy, very hot or cuts out at times
  • No check has been carried out since the installation was fitted
