Energy-renovation advisor & author of the wendows guides

On the ground for over ten years, he guides Belgian households in choosing their windows, heating and solar installation — and writes the guides that help you decide with full knowledge of the facts.

  • 10 years on the ground in energy renovation in Belgium
  • Exterior joinery & glazing specialist
  • Tracks regional grants across the three regions
  • Hundreds of households supported, from advice to after-sales
His background

Ten years translating the technical into concrete decisions

He started out on site, where you measure, fit and adjust windows to the millimetre. That hands-on experience remains his compass: good advice always starts from the real building, not from a product sheet.

Over the years, he broadened his focus to energy renovation as a whole — heat pumps, photovoltaics and insulation — and to preparing grant applications across the three regions.

“My job is to make a quote readable: what you pay, what it changes, and why.”

It is that standard he brings to every guide: explain without overselling, cost things honestly and always set the advice in the context of the home and the available grants.

Areas of expertise

What he knows inside out

Five energy-renovation trades, and the thread that links them: your home as a whole.

Windows & glazing

PVC, aluminium, wood-alu, double and triple glazing: materials, profiles and thermal performance (Uw).

Regional grants

Wallonia, Flanders and Brussels: application files, income conditions and 6% VAT on renovation.

Heat pumps

Air-to-water, air-to-air and thermodynamic hot water: sizing, real-world COP and moving off heating oil.

Photovoltaics

Output, self-consumption, inverters and storage: what really changes the return on investment.

Insulation

Roof, walls and floors: the right order of works for the most profitable savings.

Method & quotes

Critical reading of quotes, honest costing and trade-offs based on the building and the budget.

Our editorial line

How our guides are written

Three simple rules, so you can trust what you read.

01

Honest about the figures

Dated price ranges and verified grant amounts, never oversold. When “it depends”, we explain on what.

02

Rooted in Belgian buildings

From Brussels’ older buildings to detached houses on the outskirts: advice set in the real context of homes here.

03

Kept up to date

Grants, VAT and regional frameworks change. The guides are dated and revised when the rules change.
