PVC is no longer stuck with white. Thanks to foiling — a coloured film heat-bonded onto the profile — you get more than 40 RAL colours, matt effects, wood imitations and even two-tone (white inside, coloured outside). What remains is choosing wisely, especially for dark colours exposed due south.
Understanding the colour of a PVC window means understanding foiling and the body of the profile. Here are the concrete pointers, without the sales jargon.
A coloured sheet (the foil) is bonded under heat onto the white profile, then pressed to hug every contour. This film carries the colour and finish: it resists UV and does not flake like paint.
Anthracite, grey, fir green, red brown, black: foiling opens up a whole RAL range, in matt, satin or textured uni. By far the most versatile PVC material for colour, at a price well below aluminium.
On some light shades (grey, beige), the profile can be coloured in its very material: a scratch does not reveal the white underneath. Rarer and more expensive, but with no film to protect.
Dark PVC absorbs heat and can reach 70 °C in full sun, which risks distorting a profile not designed for it. Good ranges use a film with reflective pigments (cool colours) and suitable steel reinforcement.
One face is foiled in one colour and the other in another: anthracite facade on the street side, bright white on the inside. The look of a premium window without the price of aluminium.
A foiled colour is maintained like white PVC: gentle cleaning with soapy water, no solvent or abrasive product that would attack the film. No paint to redo over time.

The right colour depends on your facade, the orientation and the budget. A few common scenarios in Belgium:
Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) on a brick facade is the current classic: modern, understated, value-adding. Foiled, it keeps its colour for years with no maintenance.
Want character outside but light inside? Two-tone foils the colour on the street side and keeps white indoors. Ideal in renovation so the rooms do not feel heavier.
On a very sunny orientation, favour a light colour or a film with reflective pigments plus reinforcement, to avoid any distortion and keep the warranty.

A dark colour absorbs heat and can reach 70 °C in full sun, which can distort an unsuitable profile. Good ranges use enhanced steel reinforcement and a film with reflective pigments (cool colours). Facing due south, this is a point we check systematically during the survey.
White remains the most economical colour. Foiling one face adds roughly 8 to 12%, while two-tone or dark colours with a reflective film add 12 to 20% depending on the colour. The detail appears in your personalised quote.

Like white PVC: cleaning with soapy water once or twice a year is enough. Avoid solvents and abrasive products that could attack the film. No paint or treatment to redo over time.
