Between a standard powder-coated aluminium and a high-end Schüco or Reynaers system, the price can double — for a finish, a thermal performance and a warranty of an entirely different order.

The larger the glazed area, the more the window costs. XL sliding doors, panoramic fixed glazing or custom shapes significantly raise the price.
- Thermal break
A profile with a reinforced thermal break clearly improves insulation (lower Uf) and can condition eligibility for the grants.

How much does an aluminium window cost in 2026?
For a standard window fitted with high-performance double glazing, expect 750 to 950 € in entry-level aluminium, 950 to 1 300 € with a reinforced thermal break, and 1 300 to 1 800 € for a premium system (Schüco, Reynaers). Large sliding doors often exceed 3 000 €.
Does the price include fitting and removal?
Yes. The ranges on this page are for a fitted window, removal of the old one included and careful interior finishing. The quote details each item so there are no surprises.
Why does aluminium cost more than PVC?
Aluminium is a denser material, the profiles are machined to finer tolerances, and the thermal-break systems are more complex. In return, aluminium offers slimmer lines, greater load-bearing capacity and a markedly longer lifespan (50 years and more).
Is the thermal break mandatory?
It is not legally mandatory, but it is required to benefit from the regional grants in Wallonia and Brussels (limited profile Uf). On a new build or a heavy renovation, aluminium without a thermal break has in practice become rare.
